I really need audio drivers, or only graphics drivers, no joy. However, in most cases when an HDMI cable is connected Windows automatically switches as the tv in control panel — sound. I’ve never seen one with a you are using HDMI should be the HDMI. I’ve set the default play back device as laptop, so can rule those out as a possible cause. bars moving but no sound comes out. If not, go to www.nvidia.com and download and install the latest driver for the GT630 and Windows 7 64 bit.

ATI HDMI Audio это звук для подключенного устройства (телевизора) подклюенного по кабелю HDMI, разъем находится на видеокарте от производителей AMD и микрофон уж точно туда не подключить .
Realtek HDMI тоже самое только только от конкурентов (видеокарта Nvidia)

выберете устройство звука по умолчанию «HD Audio»
а также что у вас твориться в диспетчере устройств. а также почитайте тут иначе ни чего не понять.

• В том случае, если для подключения по HDMI используется переходник или адаптер на HDMI, звук может и не получиться заставить работать. Если используется VGA или DVI на HDMI, то точно нет. Если DisplayPort — HDMI, то должно работать, но на некоторых адаптерах по факту звука нет.

I’m trying to hook up my TV with my computer, and for the most part it’s working. The video goes through and I get how to control it and everything. The only thing not working is the sound.

I’m using an HDMI to HDMI cable, and like I said the video is fine. Also, when the cable is plugged into my boyfriend’s laptop, the sound comes out of the TV.

So this must mean the problem is with my computer specifically. Although, this computer is only a month old, so I wouldn’t think anything is out of date.

I’ve upgraded from vista to 7 and I am getting no sound, I’ve searched, searched and tried alot of different things, I see alot of people on this forum with the same issues, but I’ve tried most of them. I’ve installed and unistalled all the different drivers from realtek, but no luck. I have realtek high definition sound but no hdmi output. In my device manager it says the sound driver is installed properly, but when I tried to test the sound it fails to test tone, I don’t know if it has to deal with an audio codec. I only have this problem with 7, so I know it is not a hardware related issue. I simply can not get any sound out of my graphics card (seemingly) through HDMI. It worked before using 7, so I am 100% confident that this is a 7 issue (because it still works on Ubuntu!).All drivers and software is up to date too.

splitting audio to two separate output devices in windows 7 x64.I’m preparing my primary PC to act as a Media center. Ideally I’d like for someone to be able to watch netflix, or online videos on the TV with audio and video running through the HDMI cable while someone else can use the PC monitor & desktop speakers to game or do other tasks. The issue is both gaming applications and chrome (or other web browsers) only support audio playing through the default audio device in windows 7. As a result, i’m forced to pick whether i want all audio to play from the TV speakers or the desktop speakers.

I’ve recently purchased a Samsung T23A750 monitor and to my disappointment when I try to watch a movie the built in speakers are not functioning. I have a Sony Vaio Z216GX connected via HDMI to the monitor (HDMI-DVI) port. I can definitely see the video, but no audio is playing from the speakers. The built in speakers are not at fault- I did a self-diagnosis of the monitor and the speakers seem to work fine. I also set the monitor as the default for the audio and even when Win 7 says its functioning properly, the speakers still don’t work. Conversely, setting the default to my PC speakers work fine. I’m sure its not the HDMI cable- I used the same one to hook my pc to my tv with everything working fine.

Nvidia HDMI «not Plugged In» (greyed Out), Video, But No Audio?

Here’s my setup: Nvidia video card>HDMI out to Sony Home Theater System>HDMI out to Samsung HDTV. I use this to get 5.1 LPCM surround sound for video games. It worked fine until I did a firmware update on the Sony unit. Now, the HDMI audio is greyed out in Windows 7 audio playback options. Nvidia Control Panel sees the device as audio compatible, but Windows does not.Audio DOES work if I connect a different display (through the same system). I connected an Acer computer monitor and everything worked normally. It also works it I connect it directly to the Samsung TV. The Sony unit works on its own or with the Acer monitor connected. When the monitor is connected, Nvidia Control Panel sees the home theater system as Sony AV System and Audio Playback reports SonyAVSYSTEM. When the Samsung TV is plugged in, Nvidia CP sees the home theater system as Sony Digital Display and Windows audio just says the cable is unplugged (doesn’t report anything). I’m getting picture with this setup, but I can’t even select the audio option.

I’m going crazy at this point, I have Sony working on it from their end and Samsung insists it’s not their fault. Is this a Windows problem? I find it strange that Nvidia CP can recognize the unit and marks it as audio-capable, but Windows says a cable is unplugged. I’ve tried all recent driver options for both Realtek and Nvidia (Betas and stable). All drivers work the same under different connections described above. That the system works normally unless PC>Theater>TV makes me think that this is a pretty specific breakdown in communication with HDMI!date:Sony representatives got back to me with the findings from their engineers. They insist that because my PS3 works on the setup, it must be an issue with my PC. Their best guess is that the devices are failing to handshake properly over the HDMI connection.

Windows 7 Hdmi Output Is Only Available When It Is Off

i have a dell core 2 duo with 3gb of ram, and an ati hd4650, when i boot up, both outputs get the boot up screens, when it gets into windows, the hdmi output appears to be unplugged(not available for selection, just not there) it is worth noting that it worked fine under vista, anyways, when i switch the source on my receiver, or turn it off, as long as it is plugged in, it then gets detected, and i can modify resolution, and apparently it is outputting sound as well, i cannot verify this because the receiver is OFF, tried various versions of the catalyst drivers, and one of them worked, until i went into the catalyst center to change something and it went back to what it was doing i feel it is something wrong with the windows side or the driver, ive tried upgrading to the x64 version, ive tried different cables, different ports/plugs, it just wont work, i have no idea where to look in the registry to change when it is detected, but when i turn off the receiver or switch off of that source, the monitor flickers and the output is detected, this is frustrating because i wanted all of my home machines to be on 7, and i really dont want to go back to vista.

I have a Lenovo H405-7223-1GU that I bought in June 2011. Yesterday I bought a Philips 32″ HDTV 720p 60Hz. My PC won’t recognize my TV at a monitor via HDMI cable. The ports on the TV and the cable is fine because I can connect my DVD player with no issues. When I connect my laptop to TV through HDMI cable, I get both video and audio from it to play on TV. And if I connect speakers to the headphones output I can’t hear sound in speakers, the HDMI audio is still playing on TV. Currently having a lot of trouble to even get any sound out of stereo mix. I’m wanting to record sound from my PC but I’m not too sure if I can with the current set up I have. I’m using my Samsung TV which is plugged into the HDMI port on my PC and using the speakers already in/on the TV. Can’t Get 5ch Audio Via HDMI Out Of ASUS Motherboard On-board Audio

I have a HTPC setup. PC includes an ASUS MB with on-board video and audio, including options for either separated analog 7.1 audio out or HDMI out (among other output options). Current setup routes Audio and Video via HDMI to Pioneer VSX-1020 A/V receiver, and routes video from there to HDTV via another HDMI cable. OS is Win7 Ultimate x64, w/SP1.

When I play audio files, the receiver can fake the signal into all 5 channels (I don’t have a sub, so the .1 is not relevant here), so there’s no issue of the receiver not accessing the available speakers.

The main issue is this: When I look into the Sound Control Panel, under Playback Devices, the active/default device is ATI HDMI Output. Also listed are Speakers (not plugged in), Realtek Digital Output and Realtek Digitial Output (Optical). I do not have any analog cables plugged in, nor do I have an S/PDIF (optical/coax) connected. The HDMI works, but only gives me the option of Stereo (2ch). When I go to the Configure screen for the ATI HDMI Output, I see a list of Audio Channels, but that list ONLY contains Stereo.

I am trying to get audio from my PC via HDMI into my Marantz NR1402 AV Amp and then into my panasonic plasma.the plasma is picking up the desktop (so the signal is going thru the amp ok but the amp is not receiving any sound. I installed Windows 7 yesterday and at first I had no audio to my TV via the HDMI cable. I adjusted the settings via the sound icon on the taskbar, playback tab, changing whether the speakers or the Digital Output Device (HDMI), Sigmatel High Definition Audio Codec was the default. Eventually I got it to work.

Today, however it has stopped working again and no matter what changes I make, nothing works. When I right click on the playback device Digital Output Device (HDMI) and choose TEST, I get the message: Failed to play test tone. All sound comes through the laptop speakers.

I went to device manager and checked the driver for the codec and it was up to date.

When I was using Vista, to get the audio all I had to do was plug in the HDMI cable and the sound automatically went through the TV.

I cannot hear any sound from my PC, I tried connecting through both the front panel and the back panel to no avail.I however did notice that the only panel option available on Realtek HD seems to be the Realtek HD Audio rear output and that doesn’t work.It’s quite frustrating because I can’t hear any sound from my computer even when I used a headphone.

I finally bit the bullet and made myself a HTPC running Win 7 RC 64-bit. The whole purpose was to play ripped DVDs (to VOBs) from my NAS, any downloaded shows (as AVI’s) from my NAS, and hopefully BluRays via the BD-ROM (I have a PS3, so this was not the main reason).

It seems that I was able to get the first two objectives working without any work. All I had to do was install the latest Catalyst drivers.

However, I can’t seem to get Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 Ultra (or Windows Media Center) to play BluRays with anything more than ‘stereo.’ I’ve tried to research the topic, but there’s just too many acronyms flying around (PAP, AAC, AC3, etc) that reading forums is like greek!

From my understanding, I know I can’t get the DD TrueHD (or DTS-MA) to work via HDMI. However, I THOUGHT I could at least have PowerDVD «convert» (is the proper word downsample?) the DD TrueHD to a 5.1 Multichannel audio.

Am I completely wrong? Is what I want even possible?

I have an Asus x83v laptop and recently upgraded from vista to 7. On vista when I plugged in the hdmi cable the audio and video would automatically go through the tv and back through the pc when unplugged (video would be displayed on both when plugged in). Now since I installed windows 7 only the video goes through automatically and the audio stays on the pc speakers unless i manually change the tv speakers to default in the control panel. How do I set it up to change automatically like it did in vista?
